Cynthia Nabozny (born May 13, 1993), known as CYN, is an American singer and songwriter from Detroit, Michigan. She is signed to Katy Perry's Unsub Records, a subsidiary of Capitol Music Group. Her debut single Together was released on July 14, 2017.

Early life

Cynthia Nabozny was born on May 13, 1993 in Detroit, Michigan. Her father, an electrician at Ford, and her mother divorced at an early age. After graduating high school, Nabozny went on to obtain a degree in Management Information Systems from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois.

Career

2011-2016: Beginnings

After attending a Katy Perry concert in 2011, CYN reached out to Perry's opener DJ Skeet Skeet, who brought her to Los Angeles to work on music. Eventually, CYN became connected with Perry and began fostering a professional relationship with her.

In 2014, CYN began uploading covers of songs to her SoundCloud account and YouTube channel. She eventually self-released her first EP CYN on SoundCloud as well. Her original song "something" went on to garner over a million plays.

2017: Together

In 2017, it was announced that CYN had been signed to Katy Perry's label, Unsub Records. Under Unsub, CYN released her debut single "Together" on July 14, 2017.
